1] From the Department of Me to Myself: painting is hard

2] saw a mole digging the other day. Rather, there was a mole hole, and dirt spitting out of it. So, it could have been something else digging. It could have been a mole robot, as an example.

3] remember the seventh Harry Potter book? Even with all the media coverage, and the millions of people reading it, there was such a respectful public silence about the ending. And I think that the silence came from love: specific love for the books, and a more general, abstract love for fellow travelers in the series. Yet further proof that: people can be very good to each other, on a mass scale.

4] turning back to this painting business, and oh mans. I keep going to bed disliking it, keep waking up with hope. This picture at right cuts off the top of his robes and you know what? I love it. Maybe that's the problem. Yeah yeah, that's it... the roooooibes...

5] I keep not renewing and The New Yorker keeps coming, as if I just made some mistake, that I'll come around soon, if it hangs in just a few more weeks
